Broadcasting executive Sewald named new Metro Chamber chief

Broadcasting executive and former journalist Mary Beth Sewald will become the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce’s next president and CEO, the organization announced today.

Sewald, currently president and CEO of the Nevada Broadcasters Association, will succeed Kristin McMillan upon her retirement.

Sewald represents Nevada’s broadcast industry and works with the FCC at the federal and state level is her role with the Nevada Broadcasters Association. She was previously general manager of Reno's KRNV-TV, an NBC affiliate.

The Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce board of trustees selected Sewald after its search committee reviewed 200 résumés.

“Mary Beth emerged as an exceptionally qualified candidate,” said Bill Noonan, chairman of the board of trustees. “With her well-rounded experience in both operating a statewide business association, as well as successful private sector companies, we believe she will be able to seamlessly step into the role of president and CEO and be a strong leader and advocate on behalf of our members and their employees,”

Sewald serves on the boards of directors for the Nevada Military Support Alliance, the Congressional Awards of Nevada, the Nevada Broadcasters Association Foundation, City National Bank Advisory Board and is vice chairwoman of the National Championship Air Races.
