Chefs for Kids

Our Mission

Chefs for Kids is on a mission to alleviate malnutrition and hunger in children through education and awareness.

Our Vision

Our vision is to have a community of individuals that cares and prioritizes the health habits of younger generations.

Fundraising Opportunities

At Chefs for Kids, every gift matters—whether $5 or $50,000—helping fuel healthy eating programs and scholarships for children. Amplify your impact through employee giving, legacy gifts, or by becoming a Healthy Eating Hero sponsor. Support our annual Dinner & Auction, partner with us for charitable events, or give back through everyday shopping at Smith’s or Walmart Spark Good. Together, we can nourish children and strengthen families across Southern Nevada.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are a mostly all-volunteer based nonprofit and have whipped up some opportunities to help. Visit chefsforkids.org/volunteer to learn more or sign up!

Programs

For 34 years, Chefs for Kids has nourished Title I students with healthy meals, nutrition education, and wellness programs. Recently, we’ve expanded to fight food insecurity by sending families home with bags of fresh produce—and with your partnership, we can keep these programs growing.

Pick a Better Snack: Our nutrition educators go directly into CCSD Title I Schools to deliver this program teaching the importance of eating and living healthier.
Cookin’ Up Breakfast: Each month a host chef organization prepares a nutritious meal for the entire student body at a designated school.
Farmers Markets: A rainbow-themed experience where kids taste fresh produce, learn the health benefits of eating a variety of colors, and shop fresh produce (for free).
Produce Picasso: Students learn about the benefits of eating a rainbow of colors then get to have fun with produce, creating their own edible artwork.
Holiday Helpings: Before each major school break, we provide more than 100 food-insecure families with reusable bags filled with fresh produce and nutrition resources.
Culinary Scholarships: Chefs for Kids awards scholarships to students pursuing hospitality degrees at CSN and UNLV, along with smaller scholarships that help cover essential tools of the trade—giving future culinary professionals the resources they need to succeed.
