Michael Morton, a major Las Vegas Strip restaurant player who operates La Cave at Wynn, has opened La Comida, a Mexican restaurant in the downtown. According to the Las Vegas Weekly's Brock Radke, "A massive margarita menu and authentic cuisine are already attracting big crowds … or maybe it’s the neon monkey sign guiding the way."
In an interview with Radke, Morton explained why he wanted to open a Mexican eatery downtown:
"What makes you feel better than sitting in a great Mexican restaurant with friends and family?” Morton says. “There’s a demand for it. The style of food and price point is the right fit for Downtown.”
The chef is Pablo Sanchez-Ortiz, a veteran of Strip kitchens at Wynn and Cosmopolitan.
Feel like splurging? The El Millionario flight of three tequila shots (Gran Patron Bordeaux, Don Julio Real and Herradura Seleccion Suprema) runs $234.
