Describe your business.

Bazaar Studios fuses a retro beauty parlor and headshot/editorial photography studio.

What’s the concept?

We’re trying to create a space where people can just come hang out and have fun and be inspired. Bazaar strives to make a sort of ‘artist compound’ with art, hair and style under one roof. We drew a lot of inspiration from ‘The Factory’ that pop artist Andy Warhol had back in the Village.

Who are your clients?

Bazaar’s clients want healthy, gorgeous, organic hair. They want to see and be seen. We’re a community that appreciates and teaches new trends and classic style to customers and fellow artists. We’re here to make people feel good and feel energized when they leave — whether it’s from a knockout new haircut or color, a makeup spruce-up, a complete beauty overhaul or a headshot that looks like it belongs in a magazine spread.

What is the best part about doing business in Las Vegas?

Our favorite part of doing business here is the people who help us create. Everyone who walks through Bazaar’s doors — whether it’s a client or beauty professional — is part of our dream, so they’re treated like family. We love high-end magazine shoots, but it warms our hearts to be able to photograph groups of longtime friends when they look and feel their best after we have our team’s hands on them.

What is the hardest part about doing business in Las Vegas?

The majority of Las Vegas salons are big and over-commercialized. While that makes the competition in the beauty arena steep, we are stepping out to bring back that New York underground beauty parlor feel to a town that craves culture.

What is your business philosophy?

Your beauty is our business. Our creed is to welcome all ages, all races, all sexes — to embrace all consumers’ definition of beauty, and enhance each individual’s style. We want to be Las Vegas’ leading parlor-studio concept among professional beauty artists, photographers and consumers. We want to exceed clients’ needs and to provide a secure and challenging work environment for our employees.

What’s the best business advice you’ve received?

It all comes down from the top. Taking care of our beauty and industry pros first will trickle down to our guests’ experiences.

Anything else you want to share?

Bazaar Studios leads a monthly education series open to all Las Vegas stylists and industry pros. Recently, we led a course on lighting for stylists when they photograph their clients’ hair — to really make sure you highlight the stylist’s hard work, and your client’s new style. We plan to do a lot of classes that combine our two industries.
