Fertittas and Station Casinos balked at Dottys? Now they have a bigger threat and it comes from within. Golden Gaming is controlled by Blake Santini who happens to be married to sister Delise Fertitta.

It seems to be a classic case of 'flipping.'

I think the message was, if you play a machine (or any game), educate yourself on how and what it takes for you to win and if you don't understand the rules of the game, don't play it.

Given Sheldon Adelsons stance against legalized internet poker, you don't suppose he is flexing his financial clout to prevent internet poker from being legalized?

Vegasbike, where you live has nothing to do with having the wherewithal of living within your means. I own my home outright as I had the common sense of recognizing dangers in the economy and acted accordingly. By the way, I live on the eastside.

Delen, you are correct. Stations did not 'lay off'' employees. Stations demoted them from full time status to part time status to cut off their benefits without paying unemployment benefits for an actual layoff. That's class. Their 'luv the locals' attitude doesn't carry over to their employees.

There are some very astute observations here today. TomD, you are right on in your comments. Know when to walk, whether winning OR losing. Sometimes it just ain;t your day, so cut your losses and walk.

Also, I have to laugh when I recall Stations failed 'Guaranteed Play' promotion.

The two-way street would extend from retail tenant Recreational Equipment Inc. to the Green Valley Ranch Resort, letting people drive through The District's outdoor shopping area to the resort's casino.

Therein lies the reason for the plan. I suspect Station Casinos is behind the submission with their thinly vailed attempt to bring more traffic to Green Valley. If you walked from the District to Green Valley, you will notice the lack of foot traffic heading to the casino.

I like how it is stated that, 'the managment contract expired,' It didn't just expire, Stations managment was fired by the new owners, but it took this long for the transition.

My point was Bob, that the average increase in premiums across the country was only 9%. Why is it that Stations premiums increased by over 100%? I understand premiums will rise, perhaps because of ObamaCare, but 100% versus 9%?
